A classic pattern between special counsel Robert Mueller and Donald
Trump continued Monday. Mueller, as he has been doing for ten months, is
diligently investigating all things Russia interference in the 2016
election. Should he stumble upon other crimes, such as money laundering,
he will charge the perpetrators, as he did with former Trump campaign
chairman Paul Manafort and his associate Rick Gates. Mueller’s
investigation is complex and far-reaching, and must be to understand the
depth of a foreign power’s widespread interference. One of the more
impressive things about the investigation is that it has largely been
done without leaks or substantial press reports about the goings-on.
